Objective(s):
To secure Highway 19 between Qui Nhơn and An Khê for deployment of the 1st Cavalry Division (Airmobile) to Vietnam
Significance/Notes:
Securing the An Khê area for the 1st Cavalry Division, along with Highway 19, also included the actions of Operation Gibraltar. The An Khê pass had significance for the An Khê base plans – the French unit Mobile Group 100 was annihilated in the pass in June 1954.
